Art in Clay Hatfield 2020

Art in Clay Hatfield is one of the biggest and most important ceramic shows in Europe. Usually the show takes place in the beautiful parklands at Hatfield House. But this year, due to Covid19 pandemic, the show is taking place online.

Over a 100 artists will present and sell their work online. The show will also run for longer than usual, as a result, giving the public the opportunity to see the work from the comfort of their homes. Art in Clay will facilitate the transaction and the artist then ship the work directly to the buyer.

All of the artists listed in Art in Clay Online Show and Shop area are exhibitors that would have been seen at this year’s show. The ceramic items listed as part of this show are exclusively available on the Art in Clay website. Many of the online exhibitors are Hatfield’s regulars. As usual, there is a wide range of styles and techniques.

You will find decorative and functional ceramics. Wheel thrown and hand built. Richly decorated and minimalist. Earthenware, raku and stoneware. Certainly something interesting for every pottery collector and enthusiast.

My collection

I’m delighted to be selected for Art in Clay Hatfield. This year I will be showing a collection of stripy work. For example this black and white decorative vessel. The piece is made in black stoneware. Firstly wheel thrown, secondly decorated with slips. After trimming, I then make the sgraffito pattern by hand. Finally, I let the piece dry and fire to stoneware temperature.
